As a new start-up in a competitive industry, Barksworthy needed an identity that would set itself apart from other dog treat brands. Barksworthy treats are handmade with carefully selected local ingredients and it was important to communicate that these were a premium product – for the truly premium pup.
We decided to create a character to tell this brand’s story: Sir Barksworthy. Based on the founder’s own dog (who, of course, tests all treats), Sir Barksworthy is intended to be a world-renowned canine cuisine expert.
The visual identity features modern style with a hint of Italian Baroque interior design. The brand’s photography features the winners of a social media contest, in which people had the chance to feature their dog in a Barksworthy photoshoot.
